Glasgow Rangers have showed interest in Hibernian midfielder John McGinn but it seems Celtic are determined to sign him in the summer transfer window.
McGinn has arguably been one of the most impressive performers in the Scottish Premiership over the past 12 months, and he would be a superb addition to the Gers squad.
However, Rangers face a tough competition from Celtic. The Bhoys have already made a formal move with a £1.5million offer for the Hibs midfielder but it was rejected last week.
Celtic are not willing to give up and they will push for another move. The Daily Record reports that more talks are planned with Brendan Rodgers optimistic of signing him.
“I just wait to see what happens between the clubs, really,” said Rodgers, while commenting on McGinn deal.
“That will be organised, hopefully, between the two clubs – and hopefully we have another player.”
Celtic have sold Stuart Armstrong last month for a fee around £7 million, and McGinn could be an ideal player to fill his void.
