Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri’s future came under huge speculation in the summer. Liverpool were interested in him and had already held advanced talks with agent while Italian side Roma were also keeping tabs on his situation. However, the 23 year old somehow stayed put in Bavaria and his situation hasn’t changed.

Thanks to the plethora of attacking option at Bayern, Shaqiri hardly gets enough game time and has rightly gone frustrated over the lack of chances under Pep Guardiola. He has only made 15 appearances (most of them from the bench) this season having scored 2 goals and grabbing the equal number of assists.

Today we had reported that his brother who is also his agent reiterated that the winger needs to play and not warm the sidelines, “At this age, he needs to play regularly, which is not currently the case. We are now waiting safely until summer. Then, when teams come as Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter Milan and other top clubs we hear that to us safely.”

Swiss media outlet Blick have now reported that Bayern are willing to part with the player buy have quoted a price tag of €15m for his services. Earlier Italian side Napoli were interested for a loan deal till the end of the season but Bayern denied the offer straight away. This means that they could sell the winger in January.

Liverpool could thus make a bid for the player in the upcoming winter transfer window and could snatch the player’s services from Manchester United’s grasp, the latter who are also interested. So will the Reds splash the cash in January? Only time shall have an apt answer.
