Juventus go into the final Champions League group A game knowing that a single point will see them through to the next round. Bayern Munich need a win, and have dropped points against Juventus at home and with a team struggling with injuries and unhappy players, it seems likely that the German giants will be lining up in the Europa League in the second half of this season’s European campaign.
Both teams go into the game on the back of important wins in their domestic campaigns. Juventus beat Inter as the Serie A title race was given a lifeline amidst strong indicators that Inter will not have it all their way this season. Bayern Munich won their Friday game against Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 and then watched their title rivals all around them drop points, and going into the winter break Bayern will be hoping for more of the same.
