According to latest reports emanating from the British press, Bayern Munich’s fallen angel Lukas Podolski could be drafted in at cash-packed Manchester City as early as January.

The Polish-born German international striker is said to have fallen out with his club big time and is more than just willing to let himself off the Bayern hook and seek fortunes elsewhere. He has been relegated to the bench at the Allianz Arena and is disgruntled that he is not a regular at Bayern anymore.

Bayern Munich President Franz Beckenbauer himself declared very recently that the 23-year old could be out of Bavaria very soon. He said:

“You can’t keep a professional if he is unhappy, on the bench and not playing. Podi is a top-class striker when he has space to run clear. But teams we face are usually very defensive.”

A host of clubs are eager to sign the player and one of the interested are Premier League side Manchester City. City manager Mark Hughes is eager to draft in several new faces in January and is looking to sign a couple of top draw strikers.

Podolski is regarded by many as a world class striker and Man City, given their financial superiority these days, would be very much likely to sign the player. It is speculated that City shall cash out £12 million for the player in January.

But then again, all players these days seem to be linked to Man City. Maybe that is the case with Lukas Podolski too?
