Former Leeds United player and club hero Andy Couzens has taken to social networking Twitter to defend the club’s transfer policy.
It has been a very frustrating transfer window for Leeds who finished 13th in the Championship last season.
The club have appointed a world class manager in the form of Marcelo Bielsa, but Leeds have struggled to bring in their top targets.
While the Yorkshire club have been able to ship out unwanted players, it is the lack of incoming transfers that has left the fans frustrated.
Leeds have only managed to sign one player – Lewis Baker on loan from Chelsea – and are working on a deal to sign Jamal Blackman on loan from the same club.
Couzens is confident that Bielsa is working on the transfer front and that the transfer business is slow across all the leagues due to the players participating in the 2018 Russian World Cup. He has urged the fans to be patient.
People saying we need signings we do yes and am sure the manger is working on that part and also it’s always slow after a World Cup look at all the leagues not a lot going on really so let’s be patient #mot

The problem with Leeds is they have identified the right profile of players – Abel Hernandez, Matej Vydra et al – but they haven’t been able to broker the deal despite reportedly conducting talks over any potential move to Elland Road.
