JAMES DOYLE is ten from 41 at early-season (April/May) Ascot meetings for a profit of £8.15 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected wins only 5.63) and he has another good book of rides today. NOBLE STYLE, 6-4 favourite for the 2.55, is his most obvious chance, though I’m very keen on 15-2 shot SERENADING in the 3.30. She’s a hold-up ride and Doyle excels when coming from the back. ONE RULER has been very well supported overnight in the Victoria Cup (4.05) and UNIVERSAL ORDER, who has a great record when fresh – form figures of 11114 (4-5) when rested for at least six weeks – could well defy an absence of more than 600 days in the 2.20. DIAMOND BAY (1.55) was a big improver on the all-weather since we last saw him on turf and Ascot should suit. Buy in the Spreadex ASCOT JOCKEYS market.
