Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will be given another mammoth transfer war-chest to sculpt the squad according to his own taste.
Judging by the reports, one get the feel that United are looking to make at least one or two big money signings. Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, Dortmund’s Mats Hummels are the type of names that are doing the rounds in daily newspapers in England.
Already, United have agreed a deal to sign Holland international Memphis Depay, but Van Gaal is looking to add more world class forwards to the ranks, as United aim to challenge for the title next season.
According to reports from ESPN, Manchester United will make a bid to sign world class forward, Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich in coming months.
United are looking to bolster their forward department next summer. Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Angel di Maria are all facing an uncertain future at the club, while van Gaal sees his former protege Muller as an ideal candidate to lead the forward line at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils feel they can work out a move, especially give Muller’s apparent discord with Pep Guardiola, after the Bayern Munich manager took him off during the Champions League semi final defeat against Barcelona.
In that scenario, United would need to offer upward of £30m to force Bayern into any sort of negotiation. United are also considering making a move for Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech, should David de Gea join Real Madrid in the summer.
