According to reports in Guardian, Totenham are in hot pursuit of Belgium’s World Cup star Divock Origi, but Spurs will face competition from fierce cross city rivals Arsenal and Merseyside giants Liverpool.
According to the story, Tottenham scouts are reportedly watching Origi in Brazil and have also phoned Lille asking the French club to quote their price for the 19 year old. Lille will be holding out for a £8m deal but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who is known to be a shrewd dealer in the transfer market could snatch the striker for as low as £5m.
Repeared failures from Roberto Soldado have prompted Spurs to find an alternative striker for the Spaniard and Origi’s dazzling talent looks to have attracted Tottenham. The teenager’s last gasp goal against Russia helped his national side to progress through to the round of sixteen.
Arsenal are also interested in the player who scored five goals in 38 appearances last season for Lille while Liverpool have also sent scouts to keep tabs on the striker’s situation. The Gunners are in the transfer market for a striker with manager Arsene Wenger desperate to sign a quality forward who can take teh pressure off Olivier Giroud up front.
