Manchester United legend and former midfielder Paul Scholes will come out of retirement for the second time in his playing career as he signs up for Indian tournament Premier Futsal.
All set for its inaugural season this year, Premier Futsal is an indoor football league with five aside and is played on a hard-court surface.
Scholes, who is regarded as arguably one of the best midfielder of his generation, has signed a three-year contract to play in the Indian tournament.
“Futsal is a fascinating format that has played a pivotal role in developing the skills of some of the greatest football players,” said Scholes.
“Premier Futsal will be a great way to introduce the sport to India and I’m looking forward to meeting the fans across India who I know are some of the most passionate in the world.”

The 11-time Premier League winner will join former Barcelona and Chelsea playmaker Deco to become the second marquee player of the tournament so far, with Portuguese legend Luis Figo as the president and star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli as an ambassador of this new indoor league.
Scholes initially retired in 2011 after Man Utd won a record 19th Premier League title but was recalled by Sir Alex Ferguson for one final season in 2013.
Premier Futsal have already signed futsal legend Falcao and Scholes, who won a total of 25 trophies in his playing career that lasted for two decades, will be an extraordinary addition to the tournament which is in its inaugural campaign with a few more European stars expected to follow the former English midfielder between now and the start of the tournament.
