After signing the Mexican sensation at the World Cup, Chicharito, Alex Ferguson has went on to buy the Portuguese striker Tiago Manuel Dias Correia a.k.a. Bébé. The kid is 20 years old and plays for Vitoria de Guimaraes has been signed for an undisclosed fee and his transfer is subject to his medical in Manchester later this week.
European football expert and former Soccerlens TV host, Andy Brassell wrote on his twitter when asked about Bebe and his possible role at Old Trafford (link):
Never seen him play, as goes for 99.9% of Port media. Very inexperienced so loan surely in the offing.
Chances are that Bebe will probably be loaned back to Vitoria de Guimaraes after the medical or maybe to one of Manchester United’s feeder clubs because The Red Devils need a midfielder more than they need strikers.
With this signing, United match their local rivals Manchester City as Bebe is the eighth striker at the Theater of Dreams. I wonder what Fergie is up to.
