Former Chelsea Jose Mourinho has an agreement to take over from Louis Van Gaal at the end of the season.
According to the reputed Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, the Portuguese manager is all set to return to management with Manchester United soon.
Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal is expected to see out this season. Van Gaal has failed to impress at Old Trafford despite signing several new players.
El Confidencial reported earlier this year that Mourinho has already signed an agreement to be the next Manchester United manager.
Now Balague claims that Mourinho’s camp are confident that a deal has been struck, but Van Gaal believes that he will stay beyond this season.
Mourinho won the Premier League title with Chelsea last season and was sacked towards the end of 2015 after a catastrophic start to this season.
Earlier this week, Chelsea announced Conte as their new manager. Manchester City also announced that Pep Guardiola is set to take over from Pellegrini at the end of the season and it seems Manchester United are set to follow in their footsteps as well.
The Premier League giants now need to move swiftly and announce that they have secured the services of an elite manager, who they believe, can take them back to their former glories.
