North Korea 0-3 Ivory Coast
2010 FIFA World Cup
25 June 2010
The Ivory Coast would win their final group stage match 3-0 against North Korea but fail to move onto the next round.
It was a dominating performance from Ivory Coast who had chances to win by more but only could convert three of them. The goals for Ivory Coast were scored by Yaya Toure in the 14th minute, Romaric in the 20th minute, and Salomon Kalou in the 82nd minute.
The Toure goal was a shot form just outside the box that beat the goalkeeper to the far post, Romaric’s was a header from inside the box, and Kalou’s was a volley from a cross inside the box. The Ivory Coast become another African side that doesn’t end up getting out of the group stage.
Ivory Coast wouldn’t have qualified with a larger margin as Portugal earned a draw and ended up with five points. North Korea ends the 2010 World Cup with three losses and finishes dead last with a -11 goal difference.
