Manchester United are considering making a summer move for Atletico Madrid’s midfield dynamo Arda Turan and are looking to trigger his €30m release clause.
The Red Devils are looking to spend big in the summer, with manager Louis van Gaal is expected to given a transfer war-chest to sign quality players. United have been linked with Atletico’s Koke on numerous occasions, but reports from Tuttomercato suggests the Red Devils are looking for Turan instead.
The 28-year-old has become a key player for Simeone helping the Rojiblancos win their first league title since 1996.
Turan is a versatile playmaker who can play from the right or left. The thing is United have an avalanche of attacking midfielders at disposal, like Juan Mata, Angel di Maria, Adnan Januzaj, but Van Gaal admitted last month that he needs more firepower in that department.
Also, there has been a lot of speculation going on about Di Maria’s future at Old Trafford, but let’s not give too much credence to the rumour at the moment.
Should United go for Arda Turan in summer?
