All odds quoted here were correct at the time of writing but can and will change. This is because of market fluctuation and gambles developing. Now that disclaimer is out of the way, let’s take a look at this each way Haydock Lucky 15 for 1 December in more detail:
Haydock Lucky 15 Tips Leg 1 – Seymour Sox (12:40)
Alastair Ralph has already trained 15 winners this season from his relatively modest outfit and had a further 23 horses placed. Seymour Sox is a course and distance winner in the same grade as the opening 3m class 4 handicap hurdle for conditional jockeys. Officially 3lb higher in the handicap, he now has the services of Jay Tidball in the saddle.
Taking his 10lb claim into account, Seymour Sox now races off 4lb below his successful mark from March. He could thus be well-treated in handicapping terms. Stepping back up to this trip should suit the Multiplex gelding, so Seymour Sox appeals at odds of 5/1.

Leg 2 – Ned Tanner (1:15)
In the 3m maiden hurdle, a key piece of form for our Haydock Lucky 15 tips could be a 2m 4f contest at Carlisle in which Ned Tanner ran a fine fourth on his bow over obstacles for trainer Nick Alexander. The five-year-old Milan gelding was staying on that day when others, including re-opposing third Dedanser had cried enough.
As the runner-up, Famous Bridge, came out and went one better at Ayr on Monday, the form has a solid look to it. Ned Tanner has plenty of stamina on the dam side of his pedigree, so should appreciate going up in trip. Odds of 13/2 on horse racing betting sites reflect that.

Leg 3 – Blaklion (2:50)
Many old favourites run in the extended 3m 1f veterans’ handicap chase with Blaklion now down to a career low mark. Although now aged 12, Dan Skelton’s charge has demonstrated he retains some ability. Blaklion was sixth in the Grand National on his final start of last season. He now races off a whole stone lower in the handicap.
The assessor cut Blaklion slack even though he was a fine fine at Bangor on reappearance. This Kayf Tara gelding may have become dangerously well-treated as a result. Going back up in trip is definitely in his favour, so odds of 15/2 look well worth a wager here.

Leg 4 – Gran Luna (3:20)
And finally, the last leg of our each way Haydock Lucky 15 bet is Gran Luna in the concluding 2m 3f handicap hurdle. One of two in the race trained by Nicky Henderson, this five-year-old Spanish Moon mare has a good record fresh. She is also two from three over hurdles and makes her handicap debut off 2lb below her last winning mark.
Gran Luna remains very lightly-raced for her age with Henderson taking his time. A mark of 119 translates to a nice racing weight of 11st 4lb in this class 3 contest. James Bowen takes the ride here, and there is surely more to come from this likeable mare over a trip that holds no fears based on her bumper form and Chepstow hurdles win. Gran Luna is 7/1 with online bookmakers and another solid each way play.
