Liverpool youngster Jordon Ibe has decided to commit his international allegiance to England over Nigeria, according to Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh.
Oliseh took to Twitter yesterday to confirm Ibe’s choice of priority regarding an international call-up. Ibe is eligible to represent both England and Nigeria given his Nigerian roots.

Ibe is an England youth international and has represented the Three Lions at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels. Earlier this month, Ibe played for the England Under-21s twice.
Last season, Ibe broke though into the Liverpool first team and made 12 Premier League appearances for the Reds. The 19-year-old was initially on loan at Derby County in the Championship in the first half of last season before being recalled for the second half of the season.
The starlet also made two European appearances in the Europa League when Liverpool crashed out in the knockout rounds to Besiktas. England manager Roy Hodgson is keen on Ibe representing England and giving him his first call-up to the national team for October’s Euro 2016 qualifiers now that the Three Lions have qualified for next summer’s finals.
“He is someone we’ve been looking at and a player we like very much,” said Hodgson.
Ibe’s decision, although not confirmed by the player himself, will be a positive news for England. As one of the Premier League’s brightest young talents, Ibe’s inclusion in the national set-up seems only a matter of time and England could have a star on their hands.
