Liverpool have been linked with the likes of Denis Zakaria and Ronald Araujo in recent weeks. Brazilian goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarel has also joined the club.
Denis Zakaria wants to work with Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
The 25-year-old Switzerland international will be a free agent at the end of this season and the German club are under pressure to cash in on him when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Reds could definitely use some midfield reinforcements and Zakaria could prove to be a quality addition for a reasonable price.
Liverpool lost Gini Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and Jurgen Klopp chose to head into the new season without signing a quality replacement.
So far the Reds have struggled due to the lack of depth in the central midfield and signing someone like Zakaria should be their top priority during the January transfer window.
According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sportwitness), the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Roma are all keen on signing the midfielder but the player prefers to join Liverpool because of Klopp.
Apparently, the 25-year-old wants to work with the German manager and therefore the Reds are in pole position to sign him. The midfielder has already informed his club that he won’t be signing an extension with them and therefore he could be available for a fee of around €8-10 million.
Caludio Taffarel joins Liverpool coaching staff
In other news, World Cup-winning goalkeeper Claudio Taffarel has joined the Liverpool coaching staff. He will join up with the likes of John Achterberg and Jack Robinson to work with the club’s goalkeepers.
The former Brazilian international will also continue to work with the national team along with his coaching role at Anfield.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed That Liverpool want to develop a proper goalkeeping school and that is the reason they have decided to bring in a quality goalkeeping coach like Taffarel.
The Brazilian’s arrival could have a big impact on the development of Caoimhin Kelleher, who has impressed during his cameos for Liverpool. The youngster has a big future ahead of him and Taffarel could help him fulfil his potential.

Liverpool keen on Ronald Araujo
Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on the contract situation of the Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
The player is currently in talks with the Spanish club regarding a contract extension but he has not ruled out the possibility of joining another club. Araujo has a contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2023 and Sport are reporting that Liverpool are looking to bring him to the Premier League.
