Liverpool could buy a cut-price Demba Ba

Demba Ba could be sold to Liverpool or another side this January for a fee of less than £10 million.

The Newcastle United striker is currently negotiating a new contract with the North East club but both parties have hit a stumbling block over wages. If Newcastle cannot get the matter sorted, they may be forced to sell him in January.

Demba Ba has a buy out clause in his contract which states any club can buy his contract for a fee of £7.5 million. However, he has given no indication that he wants to leave Newcastle which gives them until at least the end of December to rectify the matter.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he is very confident that Demba Ba will sign a new deal with the club before the January transfer window opens.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that he is actively looking to bring in another striker this January. He has revealed that there is a little bit of cash available but loan deals are more likely.

If Demba Ba is available at this price then Liverpool could be set to pounce for a bargain as media reports have linked the club with enquiries for Ba over the past few weeks. They would need to act fast as any other interested could see the fee rise past the £10 million mark.

His arrival would not only compliment Luis Suarez but it would also take the pressure off of the Liverpool front man who has been forced to play as the sole striker for Liverpool ever since Fabio Borini broke his foot playing for the Italy Under-21 side.

Demba Ba has been in prolific form for Newcastle this season with eight goals in 14 games suggesting he is one of the most in form Premier League strikers currently playing at present.
