Robert Lewandowski has finalised his long awaited move from Borussia Dortmund to fierce rivals Bayern Munich.

The Polish striker, who has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, has agreed a five-year contract with the Champions League holders, as confirmed by German Newspaper ‘Bild‘.

He will make the move to the Allianz Arena for free at the end of the current season.

The 25-year-old will join up with his former teammate Mario Gotze at Bayern, having completed a protracted medical with the Germans this afternoon.

The likes of Man Utd and Chelsea had been strongly linked with a move for the hit-man, but a transfer to Bayern was always on the cards, and it is no surprise that he has set the matter to rest so soon into the winter transfer window.

Shooting to prominence last season after his four-goal performance against Real Madrid, the striker has continued his goal-scoring exploits with 11 goals in 17 games in the Bundesliga so far this campaign.

And to think that he nearly joined Blackburn Rovers all those years ago…

What do you think? Will the Pole be a success at Bayern? Let me know in the comments below…
