Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus was in no mood to miss an opportunity of taking a sly dig at their fierce rivals Bayern Munich, after the German giants lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in the Champions League first leg semi final at Vicente Calderon.
Despite dominating loads of possession, and were superior in almost every department of the game in terms of statistics, Bayern had failed to breach Atletico’s defence, after Saul Niguez gave the host an early lead.
Reus grabbed a screenshot of the statistics from the match and posted on social networking site Twitter, adding “Statistics don’t mean much if this is the result.”
The German forward quickly deleted the post, but he was not quick enough to stop someone from grabbing a screenshot of his post beforehand. Check the image below, courtesy Spanish publication AS:
