Chelsea have agreed to a deal with the Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone to take over from Guus Hiddink at the end of this season.
The Dutchman was always going to be a short-term addition for the Blues and it seems Abramovich has not found his long-term replacement for Jose Mourinho.
Spanish publication okdiario reports that the Argentine manager has agreed to a deal with the Premier League champions worth around 12 million Euros per season. The report also claims that the Sevilla manager Unai Emery is the set to replace Simeone at the Calderon.
Simeone is a world class manager and has already won the La Liga with Atletico Madrid once. The Argentine also guided the capital club to a Champions League final.
Chelsea have had a disastrous season in the Premier League this year and Abramovich is desperate to get back to winning trophies next year.
With the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United going for Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, Chelsea had to get a manager of similar calibre and it seems like they have managed to pull off a statement signing with Simeone.
