Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah has been in superb form for Fiorentina since joining the Serie A club during the January transfer window.
Salah only managed 30 minutes of Premier League actions at Chelsea this season for Jose Mourinho’s side before being sent out on loan to Fiorentina.
He was included as a part of the deal that saw Chelsea signing Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina. Salah is unlikely to figure in Mourinho’s long term plans and he could be asked to leave the club in the summer.
The Egyptian winger has scored five goals for the Viola with further two assists to his name and his performances could prompt the Serie A club to make his loan deal into a permanent move.
If ESPN sources are to be believed, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move and are ready to offer him the chance to stay in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes his side needs ‘a couple’ of marquee signings in the summer to add more strength and depth to the squad.
“We need a couple of players to give more strength and depth to the squad,” believes the Chelsea boss. “We want to keep the same number of players and have a more uniform group in terms of not quality but experience, to give us that little bit of extra in case we progress in the Champions League.”
Mourinho has confirmed that Diego Costa will not play again this season, as the striker continues to nurse a hamstring injury. The former Inter Milan manager also hinted that he might look to bolster his forward line in the summer. Both PSG’s Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani and Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi are already linked with the Blues in recent months, and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea make any formal move for them in the summer.
