Chelsea fancy move for Argentine striker after Cuadrado scalp

Chelsea have yet to officially announce the deal for Fiorentina right wing back Juan Cuadrado, but we can fairly assume, judging by the reports from several media institutions that the deal is pretty close if not done already.

After seeing an early bid rejected for Cuadrado, Chelsea later agreed to pay the Colombian’s release clause, thought to be around €35m. Chelsea recouped a large portion of the transfer fee by selling Andre Schurrle to German club Wolfsburg.

We have reports from Italy, via Gianluca di Marzio that Chelsea will look to scout the Italian market again next summer, as they have set their sight on Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.

The Argentine striker will not make the move in January, but Inter have failed in their attempt to persuade him to sign a new contract, which mean he could leave the club next summer.

Inter are also preparing life without Icardi, as the Nerazzurri are looking for other options, with Marseille’s Gignac remains their top priority next summer.
