Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid this summer and it seems the Spanish giants are indeed willing to resign the notorious Spanish international.
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has claimed that it will be tough to sign Costa this summer because he has a contract with Chelsea. Cerezo also said that Chelsea are difficult to negotiate with, especially when it comes to their star players.
He said: “He has a contract with Chelsea, and it needs to be respected. Negotiating with Chelsea will be very hard, nearly impossible. Diego Costa is a star at Chelsea.”
Whether the move happens or not, Cerezo’s comments confirm one thing – Atletico Madrid are genuinely interested in signing the striker.
Costa was a major hit at the Vicente Calderon and Diego Simeone is apparently ready to work with him again. Atletico recently resigned Filipe Luis from Chelsea and will be hoping to do the same with Diego Costa.
Meanwhile, it is being reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has drawn up a new recruitment strategy for this summer.
The Russian is ready to sanction another massive spending spree in order to avoid another catastrophic season like this one.
Chelsea are keen on chasing the best talents once again in order to achieve success.
With Antonio Conte already announced as the new Chelsea manager, it will be interesting to see how Abramovich handles this summer’s transfer window.
Conte is not particularly keen on signing established stars and the Italian prefers to build a dynasty with young and hungry stars as opposed to a side that can get instant success.
Another clash between the manager and the owner in the pipeline? time will tell.
