Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has claimed that the former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez would be ideal for his side.
Atleti finished third in the league, after having won it last season and Simeone is keen to recreate a devastating attacking trio like that of Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Madrid outfit are already close to landing Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto and will now pursue the Juventus forward.
Tevez has had a superb campaign this season racking up 29 goals. The Argentine was a key figure behind Juventus winning a double and reaching the Champions League final. However, it is believed that Tevez is now keen to embark on a new adventure.
The Argentine has been linked with a move back to Premier League with Liverpool, but it is believed that he would prefer a move to Boca Juniors or Atletico Madrid. His robust nature and desire to win will fit right in with that of his compatriot Diego Simeone. And despite being 31, Tevez still has a lot to offer on the pitch.
Getting Tevez in a cut price deal would be excellent business for Atleti, who boast an amazing array of strikers past and present.
Speaking to AS, Simeone stated that Carlos Tevez ‘would be the ideal player for Atletico Madrid’. Further he also revealed that the deal for Luciano Vietto was ‘close’.
Simeone and Atleti are doing their best to create an attacking trio of Griezmann, Vietto and Tevez in a bid to reclaim their league title.
