Manchester United 3-0 West Ham United
English Premier League
23 February 2010
Manchester United was once again led by a couple goals from Wayne Rooney as they cruised to a 3-0 win.
West Ham’s chances of a draw or win were gone when Rooney scored on a header in the 38th minute. His second goal was on another header in the 55th minute. Owen’s goal was a result of a through ball from Paul Scholes and a shot to the far post past the goalkeeper.
Despite the 3-0 scoreline, the stats weren’t as lopsided and West Ham did have 13 shots and 4 on goal. Possession was 54-46 for Man United. The win puts Man U within one point of EPL leaders Chelsea while West Ham remain above the relegation zone.
West Ham will next face Bolton while Manchester United plays Aston Villa in the Carling Cup Final on Sunday.
