According to reports in the Times, La Liga winners Atletico Madrid have made fresh approach to Manchester United for the signing of out of favour striker Javier Hernandez. The Mexican has no guarantee over his future at Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order last season featuring in 29 appearances, most of which were from the bench.
Hernandez had earlier been left out of the 25-man Manchester United squad for the pre-season tour to USA but was drafted in later. Moreover, new manager Louis van Gaal’s reluctance to speak on the striker’s future at the club perhaps gives the best indication that the 26 year old might be headed for the exit at Old Trafford.
“I have to see if he performs how I want. Now I can only see what he has showed under the guidance of another coach. He will arrive this evening and I will meet him, we will train and after that he will perform in a match and then I can say something about that.”
We had earlier reported that Italian side Inter Milan were also interested in Chicarito but the Nerazzurri would only take the striker on loan.
