Napoli v Juventus
Italian Serie A
Stadio San Paolo – Naples, Italy
25 March 2010 – 19:45 GMT
Juventus faces Napoli on Thursday with a chance to move up to 4th place in the Serie A table with a win.
Napoli v Juventus Preview
Juventus is 6th heading into the match and three points behind 4th place Palermo. Despite struggling for most of the winter, Juventus is still in good position for a spot in the Europa or Champions League for next season.
Napoli is in 8th place and three points back of Juventus, who are in the last Europa League spot. A win would move them level on points but they would need to make up a -3 deficit in goal difference. Napoli has not won a match since January 24th and is 0-5-3 in their last eight matches.
Juventus have lost their last two matches, a 1-0 defeat to Sampdoria and a very disappointing 4-1 loss at Fulham in the Europa League. They continue to have many injuries and will not have Gianluigi Buffon, Martin Caceres, Antonio Chimenti, Alessandro Del Piero, Vincenzo Iaguinta, and Hasan Salihamidzic. Nicola Legrottaglie will also be unavailable, due to suspension.
Napoli will be without Fabiano Santacroce, Erwin Hoffer, Salvatore Aronica, and Andrea Dossena. Michelle Pazienza could be fit for the match but is doubtful.
Juventus have been inconsistent but Napoli have struggled in the last few months. It should be a very even match that ultimately ends in a draw.
