The season’s coming to an end and for Newcastle, it couldn’t come any sooner. Even the valiant draw against Chelsea was bittersweet – the squad’s fight tempered with the realisation that if they had fought like this throughout the season, Newcastle would be now be pushing for Europe.
Still, there are a few bright spots in an otherwise dismal season and as always, there is cause for optimism at Newcastle for next year.
Ed Harrison (over at the Newcastle United Blog) has put together a list of 6 players that he thinks were the best for Newcastle this season.
Take a look at his list:
Newcastle’s 6 best players in 2006/2007
He lists Steven Taylor, Kieron Dyer, Nobby Solano, Nicky Butt, Obafemi Martins and James Milner as his top 6 players.
Question is, who’s your pick for the best Newcastle player this season?

- Obafemi Martins – 27%
- Nicky Butt – 17%
