Atletcio Madrid striker Diego Costa gave the clearest of indications that he will be joining Premier League giants Chelsea in the coming days. The 25 year old spoke candidly regarding his imminent move to Stamford Bridge after Spain beat El Salvador by 2-0 in the La Roja’s preparations building up to the World Cup which begins later this week.
When asked about his imminent transfer move to the Blues, Costa said, “Well, it looks like it.”
We had earlier reported that the player has already undergone his medical at Chelsea and the London club are looking to finalize the deal within this week.
The Brazilian born striker also mentioned that he has recovered from the previously sustained hamstring injury and is now looking forward to represent Spain in the World Cup.
“I’ve had a injury and you always have a doubt in the back of your mind that it could reappear, you feel good but you worry about getting a tear. Tonight, I felt really good.”
Costa is also expected to lead the Spanish strike force up front on his own after after having a stunning season with Atletcio which saw him score 35 goals in 44 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side in the 2013-14 campaign.
“Whatever reception I am given depends on how the people over there have interpreted the way things have turned out. I’m happy and really looking forward to going back, it will be a pleasure to take part in a World Cup over there with Spain”.
