With all the domestic campaigns done and dusted, it is time for every club to focus on the transfer market and improve their chances of doing well next season.

Although the transfer window officially opens on the 1st of July, almost every club has started working on their deals and new signings are being confirmed every day. Here at Soccerlens, in our daily transfer news roundup column, we will bring you some of the latest stories from the last 24 hours.

Improved Manchester United bid submitted for Mkhitaryan

Manchester United are keen to land the Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United and have submitted an improved offer after their initial bid was rejected by the Bundesliga outfit.

Manchester United submitted an initial offer of 19 million pounds, which was knocked back. The new bid is around 28 million pounds.

The player’s agent has revealed several times that he wants to join Jose Mourinho’s side and it seems that Mkhitaryan’s dream move is edging closer now. The player has 12 months left on his current contract and 28 million pounds is a lot of money.

Although Borussia Dortmund are reluctant to sell any more star players after the departures of Gundogan and Hummels, they do not have much of a choice in this case. The player has refused to sign a new deal and they cannot risk losing him for free next season.

Mkhitaryan is a target for Arsenal and Chelsea as well. His agent Raiola has made it clear that Manchester United is the player’s dream destination and he wants a move at any cost.

Borussia Moenchengladbach want to sign Christensen permanently

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is a man in demand.

The young centre back impressed during his loan spell in the Bundesliga and Borussia Moenchengladbach are keen on making the move permanent this summer.

The Danish defender joined Borussia on a 2 year loan deal and Chelsea are already considering a recall after his impressive performances last season.

According to Mirror, Borussia Moenchengladbach are prepared to break their £11.5m transfer record to sign Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen permanently.

Director of football Max Eberl said: “In the case of Christensen we are ready to make a record transfer. We know that a player with his quality does not come cheap.”

Antonio Conte wants Italian winger Emmanuele Giaccherini

Chelsea have been linked with several Serie A and Italian players since the arrival of Antonio Conte and the latest name linked with the Blues is that of the Sunderland winger Emmanuele Giaccherini.

The Italian winger has been impressive for Conte in the Euros so far and has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Chelsea could definitely use another winger and having played under Conte at Juventus and Italy, Giaccherini is well aware of his methods. If the Blues are indeed interested in his services, a deal should not be hard to complete.

He has failed to impress in the Premier League with Sunderland and they will welcome a chance to get rid of the player.
