Where will Mohamed Salah be playing next season?

Mohamed Salah, affectionately known as the Egyptian Messi, was key to unlocking several big money chain transfers during the last January transfer window.

The 23-year-old joined Fiorentina on loan as a part of the deal that saw Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado moving the opposite direction. The deal also further allowed Chelsea to cash in on Andre Schurrle, who joined Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

Both Cuadrado and Schurrle struggled to recapture their old form for their new clubs, Salah on the other hand was making headlines in Italy with his one stellar performance after another for the Serie A club.

He scored nine goals and managed four assists since joining the Viola in January. This comes as a stark contrast to his first half of the season, where he managed only 30 minutes of league action for Chelsea.

Sarah’s impressive form last season didn’t go unnoticed, and now several top Italian clubs are vying for his signature.

Salah personally wants to continue at Fiorentina. He would be happy to stay at the club for another year but only if Fiorentina improve his salary to reflect his worth, especially what Inter Milan and Juventus, the other two club that are reportedly interested, are offering him. He currently earns 2m/year at Fiorentina, while Inter and Juventus are ready to offer him around 2.7m and 3m per year respectively.

Fiorentina has already a deal in place with Chelsea for Salah, where the Egyptian can stay for one more year and thereafter the club can sign him permanently for 18m, but the player has a right to veto if he wishes to. In such a scenario, he’d return back to Chelsea and the Blues will have the option to sell him to Inter Milan or Juventus at a high transfer fee.

While Salah would get a Champions League platform at Juventus, he harbours doubt about how much game time he would get at the Turin club. Last thing he needs is another repeat of his Chelsea experience.

Inter Milan on the other hand could be a good option for the Egyptian. Salah certainly has no shortage of options at the moment but the problem is he must act quickly, as he must sort out his future before June 30 deadline.
