Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has been repeatedly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

However, they now face competition with Arsenal and West Ham United joining the race.

According to Cuorirosso Blu, the two clubs are assessing the situation regarding the Japanese international.

The versatile 22-year-old could prove to be a useful addition for both clubs.

Tomiyasu is naturally a right-sided centre-back but can also slot in at full-back, providing his suitors with several tactical options.

West Ham need to add more depth to their defensive ranks, and Tomiyasu seems like an ideal fit for them.

They are competing in the Europa League this season and need to strengthen their squad to cope with the extra workload.

Arsenal have already signed Ben White from Brighton & Hove Albion, but need to address the situation at right back.

Hector Bellerin has been linked with a move away from the London club, and Tomiyasu could be an option to replace the Spaniard.

Tottenham recently signed Cristian Romero from Atalanta, and time will tell whether they are keen on adding another defender to their ranks.

Whoever ends up signing Tomiyasu could have a useful utility man on their hands.
