Wednesday’s UCL Football Acca Tips
For a more detailed analysis of this Wednesday’s UCL Football ACCA tips, see below:
Liverpool vs Porto – Liverpool to win at 19/20
Liverpool won the reverse fixture 5-1 in Portugal, so it’s difficult to imagine anything other than another win for The Reds tonight at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah has five goals in four games in the UEFA Champions League for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and RWB Trent Alexander-Arnold has six assists in his last five games in all comps, including two vs Atletico in UCL Week-4.
Liverpool are flying and, though we do fancy Porto to trouble the scoresheet (see our BTTS tips via the link), it’s impossible to bet against another win for the Kop to celebrate this evening based on The Reds’ current form.
Besiktas vs Ajax – Ajax to win at 4/11
We’ll keep this one short and sweet. Turkish side Besiktas have lost four games in succession and six of their last seven.
Ajax, on the other hand, haven’t lost once in seven games; haven’t lost away from home in an astonishing 27 matches, and Erik Ten Hag’s side bested Besiktas 2-0 in Amsterdam the last time the two clubs met in UCL match-week 2.
As such. from a betting perspective, it’s impossible to wager on anything other than an Ajax win.
Manchester City vs PSG – City to win at 8/11
A solid defensive performance and a superb goal from the irreplaceable Lionel Messi ensured PSG emerged with a 2-0 win against Manchester City when the two clubs met at the Parc des Princes in UCL Group A Week-2.
PSG’s defense hasn’t been in such good form of late though. The 2020/21 Ligue 1 runners-up have conceded goals in six of their last eight matches and dropped crucial points away in Leipzig in the last round of UCL matches having been held to a 2-2 draw by the German side.
Despite the away defeat to PSG, City still sit in first place in UCL Group A. The Citizens have outscored Paris by a ratio of almost 2:1 in the competition, and Pep Guardiola’s team will know that another win in front of a home crowd this evening will ensure safe passage through to the last-16.
City are a better football team than PSG, and we’re expecting the likes of Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne to prove it later on tonight with a big win.
Sheriff Tiraspol vs Real Madrid – Madrid to win at 1/4
Sheriff Tiraspol shocked the world when Sebastien Thill’s late goal ensured that they emerged from the Bernabeau with a surprising 2-1 away victory in Week-2. But, let’s not get too carried away with the result – upsets do happen in football:
The truth of the matter is that Real Madrid dominated the game from start to finish, boasting 76% possession and chalking up 31 shots and 11 shots on target to Sheriff Tiraspol’s four shots and three on target.
Even though Karim Benzema and co. and traveling away from home for this repeat encounter, we’re not expecting lightning to strike twice:
Sheriff Tiraspol 0-3 Real Madrid seems a likely result based on the ebb and flow of the last encounter.
Inter Milan vs Shakhtar Donetsk – Internazionale to win at 1/3
Simeone Inzaghi’s Internazionale side hasn’t lost in seven consecutive games and is unbeaten at home in its last six competitive fixtures.
Shakhtar have been in fine form domestically, winning five games in a row, but Roberto De Zerbi’s team hasn’t traveled well in Europe thus far this season, losing games on the road to Real Madrid (2-1) and Tiraspol (2-0).
Teams don’t tend to fare well at the Giuseppe Meazza where Inter are dominant, and we’re not expecting that to change this evening – 3-1 to Milan looks a safe bet.
