Tuesday’s UCL BTTS Tips
For a more detailed analysis of this Tuesday’s UCL BTTS Acca, see below:
BTTS Tips: Villareal vs Manchester United – 4/6
Keeping it simple, with the likes of Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw in such poor club form, Manchester United are incapable of keeping a clean sheet at present – a fact evidenced by a run that’s seen one clean-sheet in 14 games and 14 goals conceded in their last five matches in all comps. So, unless Michael Carrick has waved some kind of magic wand over United’s beaten backline, Villareal, at this point, are all but guaranteed a home goal.
It’s not such doom and gloom at the other end of the pitch for United fans, however. Despite the recent poor run of form, Cristiano Ronaldo is still T-3rd in the UCL goalscoring charts with five goals to date; Marcus Rashford is back fit and playing well, and there were signs of the real Donny van der Beek and Jadon Sancho in that embarrassing domestic defeat to Watford on Saturday.
The last time these sides met, the score ended 2-1 to United at Old Trafford in Week-2 – we expect a similar outcome this evening.
BTTS Tips: FC Barcelona vs Benfica – 8/11
Two goals from Darwin Nunez helped Benfica to a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture against Barcelona at the Estadio da Luz in UCL Group E Week-2. Having played a far more incisive and adventurous brand of football, the Portuguese giants deserved their victory too, and more than demonstrated enough attacking credentials to bother the same defense on the road this evening.
Barcelona aren’t playing like the force of old at present and need a win tonight to get separation from Benfica in the Group E table. Failure to win will result in Barcelona needing a result away at the Allianz Arena on matchday six, and other results going their way if they are to progress to the knockout stages.
It’s for this reason that we believe that Barcelona will go all out to score – Xavi Hernandez’s side must win this game, so expect goals.
BTTS Tips: Chelsea vs Juventus – 11/10
The last game between these two sides ended in a 1-0 home win for the Old Lady. However, we’re expecting more goals in tonight’s contest at Stamford Bridge.
Since losing to Juventus, Chelsea have been in a rich vane of goalscoring form. Thomas Tuchel’s Blues have scored 26 goals 10 games since and are unbeaten in that same period.
A lot of Chelsea’s attacking impetus has been coming from full-backs Reese James (four goals & five assists in all comps) and Ben Chilwell (three goals and one assist). But keep an eye out for Kai Havertz tonight, too: the German star has one goal and one assist in his last three league games and looks in form.
In fairness, Chelsea’s defense has been equally impressive during this recent great run of form, but Juventus have scored in every single game they’ve played this season, and we’re expecting them to at least continue that streak in a defeat to the Blues tonight.
BTTS Tips: Bsc Young Boys vs Atalanta – 8/15
The reverse fixture ended in a 1-0 home win for Atalanta, but we’re backing the second contest between Young Boys and the visiting Italian side to gift more goals:
With the likes of Duvan Zapata (Atalanta) and Jordan Siebatcheu out on the field, both of these teams are capable of scoring but neither boasts solid enough defense to consistently keep the opposition out.
A fact evidenced by the following stat: BTTS bets have yielded positive results in six of Young Boys’ last seven matches and in nine straight games for Atalanta. Hence, we expect a score draw in this one.
BTTS Tips: Sevilla vs VFL Wolfsburg – 10/11
BTTS bets have found success in three of Wolfsburg’s last six games (all comps); in four of Sevilla’s last six, and in the last UCL game between these two teams in Week-2 when Wolfsburg were held to a 1-1 draw in Germany.
UCL Group G is wide open at present but that door will quickly slam shut on whichever team emerges from this evening’s game with a loss. With the home crowd behind them, we’re backing Sevilla to win the game (see our ACCA tips article via the link) at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan but for Wolfsburg, a team that’s registered goals in eight of its last 10 games, to make life difficult for Julen Lopetegui’s side.
Sevilla 2-1 Wolfsburg is our bet.
