Only couple of days back, Spanish newspaper El Confidencial claimed that Chelsea had agreed a deal to sign Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid, and now coach Diego Simeone has clearly stated that he won’t stop the Spain international joining the London club in summer.

Costa has scored 26 league goals this season and has a reported release clause of €60m. The 25-year-old injured his leg in the last match but is fit to play against the Blues in the Champions League.

In an interview with AS, Simeone said he would not try to block any move for Costa, as the decision for his future solely rests with the player.

“It depends on him and what he believes is best for his future. I will support any decision.

“It is normal that Chelsea are interested in him. He has good economic potential. Eto’o gets older and (they want) Diego Costa to do their work, but now he’s ours.”

The Argentine manager also said that on-loan Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will start the match, but he is unsure whether the Belgian will stay with the club, next season or not.

Simeone added:  “I have no doubt that he will play against Chelsea. He also has no doubts. Not a concern. Not yet know where he will play next year.’

Simeone feels that Costa is becoming one of the candidates for the Ballon d’Or and expects the player to improve further.

If the reports are believed to be true, then Chelsea have already agreed a provisional agreement with Atletico. Jose Mourinho needs quality strikers, and Costa certainly fits the bill.

The question is: Should Chelsea pay €60m for Costa?
