Ruben Neves could leave Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.

Wolves are set to undergo a massive rebuilding process following the departure of manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

According to reports from The Athletic, the incoming manager will have to operate on a tight budget, with no war chest available this summer.

Wolves need to sell some of their star players to reinvest the money into their squad.

The report claims that Neves is likely to depart in the summer for a figure in the region of £35 million.

Rui Patricio is another player who could leave the club, while the future of Adama Traore remains in doubt.

Neves joined Wolves in 2017 from Porto for a fee of £15.8m which was a club-record fee at that time.

Neves has a contract at the club until 2023, and Wolves are looking to make a big profit on him this summer.

According to a recent report from 90min, Manchester United are showing keen interest in signing the midfielder. Neves could be open to a fresh challenge after four years at the club.

Neves is a top-class midfielder who would be a fantastic signing for the Red Devils.

Known for his intricate passing, set-piece ability and scoring from long range, he quickly rose to the stature of cult-hero, making over 175 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals.

He is equally good with tackling and interceptions and has an admirable work rate. United have Fred and Nemanja Matic for the holding midfield role, but Neves would an upgrade on both players.

The news will come as a huge boost for United. He is well within their budget, and a move makes sense for all parties involved.
