Champions League finalists and Spanish giants Real Madrid are set to make a summer move for Juventus midfielder and Manchester United target Paul Pogba in the summer according to reports in Italy.
The 21 year old Frenchman has had a terrific season for Antonio Conte’s side who now have claimed a third Serie A title in succession. We had earlier reported that former Juventus great and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane had phoned Pogba asking him to make a summer move to the greener pastures of Santiego Bernebeu.
Pogba has scored 8 goals and grabbed 7 assists this season, and while Manchester United are said to be interested in bringing back their former player, the youngster ripped apart the Red Devils recently, claiming that he was left to rot on the sidelines.
Italian daily ‘Corriere dello Sport’ earlier reported on Monday that the Bianconeri might be tempted to sell if the Los Blancos table a whopping offer. It has also been reported that Fabio Coentrao, Alvaro Morata and Angel Di Maria could head to Turin as a part of a swap deal for Pogba.
However, Juventus’ Director General Giuseppe Marotta has claimed that the club will do its best to tie down Pogba to a new contract in Turin.
“The intention and firmness on our part is to want to extend the contract to Paul, we do not have in-depth encounter, we have to review but we found willingness on the part of the entourage of the boy.”
“He knows he can grow again in Turin, the outcome is sure to be positive. The next transfer market? We’ll see but we will not do crazy things.”
