If AS are to be trusted, and on most occasions they are not, then Spanish champions and European powerhouse Real Madrid have made a ‘shortlist’ of 15 wingers out of whom they would like to sign (at least) one during January.
The Spanish tabloid has reported that Real’s Pedja Mijatovic and Miguel Ãngel Portugal held a meeting and have drawn a list of 15 names. While Mijatovic is supposed to tour Europe to search for a top draw winger, Portugal is expected to try and seek a world class winger from South America.
Well, understandably this is just a rumour and not a concrete story. What’s more weird is that Real Madrid are being tipped to sign Spain international David Silva from Valencia in January. It is a well documented fact that in the summer Valencia were in serious threat of losing the player but that issue has now been resolved as Silva has agreed to commit himself long-term at the Mestalla.
Real are also being linked to the Benfica winger Angel di Maria and this move might well be pulled off. The Argentine’s talent has reached the ears of several top European clubs and Real are said to be at the forefront of signing him.
But it simply does not seem quite digestible that Real have made a shortlist of 15- yes 15!- wingers. Come on, give us a break!
