Punchestown Festival Bankers on Day Two (Weds 27th April 2022)

5.55 Punchestown: ALLAHO @ 15/8 with BoyleSports – Heads the betting for the day’s feature – the Punchestown Gold Cup – and it’s easy to see why after winning all three of this starts this season.

The last of those wins came in the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival – his second win in that race – and has his stablemate, Janidil, well back in second that day too.

Some may look to the step up in trip as a negative, but he’s won over 3m when hurdling and was second in the 2020 RSA Chase over 3m a few seasons ago. With another year on his back this 8 year-old is a stronger horse and looks worth another crack at this 3m trip.

6.30 Punchestown: FACILE VEGA @ 4/7 with BoyleSports – Easy winner of the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival and having beaten American Mike that day by just under 4 lengths then it’s hard to see that form getting reversed.

This exciting Willie Mullins runner remains unbeaten (3-from-3) and is expected to take this before going hurdling next season.
