Newcastle United are hoping to sign Joe Willock this summer, and they have opened talks with Arsenal regarding another loan deal.
The 21-year-old midfielder was on loan at St James’ Park last season and was outstanding for the Magpies.
He scored in seven consecutive Premier League games towards the end of the season, and it is no surprise that Newcastle want to bring him back.
Steve Bruce needs to add more quality and depth to his midfield, and Willock could be a key player for his side next year.
Willock is unlikely to play regular first-team football with Arsenal, and a loan spell could be ideal for all parties.
According to the Times, Mikel Arteta is yet to make a concrete decision on the midfielder’s future, but conversations have taken place between the two clubs regarding a season-long loan.
Willock is highly talented but needs to play regularly at this stage of his career to continue his development and fulfil his potential.
If Arsenal cannot guarantee him first-team minutes next year, it would be sensible to consider the loan offer from Newcastle.
The midfielder is highly rated by Steve Bruce and will get ample opportunities to showcase his quality at Newcastle.
