Radamel Falcao’s Manchester United adventure hasn’t simply gone according to plan. United were hoping that the Colombian who earns a reported £265,000 a-week would lighten up the Premier League but repeated injuries and lack of match fitness has meant he has scored just 3 goals and grabbed the same number of assists in 12 appearances in the Premier League.
The Red Devils had paid £6m fee to Monaco for Falcao’s services but it doesn’t appear that the Old Trafford side will dish out £43.5m to secure his move permanently in the coming summer. With the trusted and reliable Italian website TMW publishing two reports in a short space of time from yesterday night, it appears that Falcao’s stay in the Premier League could well be over at the end of the season.
In their first report TMW cite METRO claiming Falcao had in fact left the stadium after he was ommitted from the squad as united took on Southampton on Sunday. This certainly increases doubts over his future.
In the second report TMW cite Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes speaking to Mediaset Premium saying over a possibel move to Italy, “Falcao to Juventus? Football is always unknown, he is a United player. He playing very little, but I think he can have more space because of has quality.”
“If he goes away from United we will certainly consider another option. Juventus? The tried earlier in the season, has respect for the Bianconeri, is a great team but in football You never know. “
The Daily Mail also claims that Falcao’s United future is in danger, and a question is asked– “Would you pay £43m for Falcao?” Well, not so sure…
In other news from a report in the Daily Express, United are also interested in signing Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and are preparing an offer of £25m for the player. In fact the Frenchman is also a Arsenal target.
In the other big news from The Guardian. Lionel Messi said last night in the Ballon d’Or gala in Zurich that his future at Barcelona is uncertain. Guardian’s very reliable and reputed journalist Sid Lowe claims United have the financial muscle to pay £195m, his buy-out clause, for the Argentine wizard.
