There is no doubt that Manchester United will be looking to bring in quality defenders in the January transfer window. Louis Van Gaal’s side currently sit third in the Premier League standings but there are problems a plenty for the Red Devils. United have still not been able to fill the void left by Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra, all of the three who left the club in the summer.
The Old Trafford side have brought in Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo, both of them primarily being left backs. Thus a centre back will be United’s top target in the transfer market. Mats Hummels and Ron Vlaar have been linked with a move to United but the rumours have died down over the past few weeks.
Reports from the trusted and reliable TMW website in Italy have claimed that both the Manchester sides, United and City have been linked with AC Milan defender Adil Rami. However, contrary to reports from the British tabloids Express, Milan won’t part with the French defender any soon. The Red Devils thus will have to look elsewhere for a defender of Rami’s caliber in January.
