The agent of Manchester City midfielder Javi Garcia has claimed that the Spaniard is set to stay at the club beyond the summer.
Garcia has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium with manager Manuel Pellegrini opting to prefer Yaya Toure and Fernandino as the double pivot in his favoured 4-2-3-1 setup.
Serie A giants Inter Milan have been linked with Garcia, with new owner Erik Thohir’s fresh injection of funds to revamp his squad in the summer. The Nerazzurri have already snapped up Nemanja Vidic from United and are also looking at Fernando Torres of Chelsea.
Garcia arrived at City in the summer of 2012 from Portuguese Giants Benfica but after Fernandinho’s arrival last summer, Garcia has hardly featured for the Blues of Manchester.
Manuel Garcia Quilon, Garcia’s agent, claimed: “There is absolutely no contact. Nobody called me, so Inter is not a possible option. So far only some English clubs have made their interest concrete.”
“In any case, it’s not an issue we have to consider, because he still has three years left on his contract with City and intends to honour it.”
“Would he go out on loan? Absolutely not. He will remain at City, without a shadow of doubt.”
