It seems like Liverpool finally have learnt from their past mistakes. The Merseyside club have conducted some great business early in the window, and plenty of ins and outs are expected before the transfer window shuts down. One of the players whose future at the club is still unclear is Javier Manquillo.

The 21-year-old right back joined Liverpool from Atletico on a season long loan last season. The Reds have an option of keeping him at the club for another season by paying a paltry fee of €1m to Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool's dilemma with Spaniard, transfer announcement before 15th July

Spanish newspaper Marca has covered a report on Manquillo on Friday where they explain that Liverpool will have to take a decision on the Spaniard within 15th July. The club can buy him, loan him for another season or send him back to Atletico. It is during that period, an official announcement from the club will be made.

Manquillo started the season brightly for the Reds, but things didn’t go well for him in the second half of the campaign. Brendan Rodgers experimented with a new formation, where he preferred playing with 3 defenders at the back, effectively limiting Manquillo’s contribution in the side.

The player apparently is keen on returning to Spain but Atletico cannot guarantee him regular first team place, which means he would be either sold permanently or loaned elsewhere.
