Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has been given 48 hours by Fiorentina to decide whether he wants to join the Serie A club in the summer. The Italian striker, along with Mario Balotelli, has no future at the Anfield club and could be sold in the summer.
Fiorentina have been in talks with Liverpool for a while over signing the 24-year-old but with new Serie A season approaching it seems they want to complete the deal at the earliest.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Fiorentina have issued an ultimatum to Borini as they want to sign a quick replacement for Mario Gomez. The German striker has left the club in the summer to join Turkish club Besiktas and Fiorentina wants a good replacement at the earliest.
Born joined Liverpool in 2012 from Roma and has made only 25 appearances for the Anfield club. He found difficult to earn regular starting place last season, and he is likely to further drop down the pecking orders at the club, following the arrivals of new strikers Christian Benteke, Divock Origi and Danny Ings.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers seems to have no confidence in him and the club will likely to sell him elsewhere, so that the Italian can kick start a new career elsewhere. He seems have to shortage of admirers, though, but a move back to his own country seems the best option for him.
