Yesterday news broke out that Liverpool have officially approached Sevilla over the signing of highly rated left-back Alberto Moreno, that obviously left every Reds fan excited.
First of all, Moreno is young, skilful and is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Spanish football and is rightly selected for the Spain’s World cup squad. Secondly, the Reds camp believe that a deal can be struck, despite interests from other top clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Chelsea had already lodged a bid for Moreno, which was rebuffed. However, with the Blues shifting their attention to sign Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis, it leaves Liverpool with an upper-hand to make the inroad here.
Moreno however refused to pay too much attention on the buzz going around him. And to be honest, he has every right to focus entirely on the World Cup. When asked to comment on his future, he said to the reporters:
“I don’t have time to think about anything other than the national team. My agent will take care of that. I have the chance to go to the World Cup, which doesn’t happen every day.”
Well, at least he gave the hint that his agent will take care of the situation, which gives an indication that he is certainly aware of the interests from other clubs.
Are we going to see Moreno in Liverpool shirt next season?
