According to reports in Football Italia, Napoli are interested to sign Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli on a six month loan deal till the end of the season. The Italian striker has fired blanks ever since his £16m summer move to Anfield and the report claims that a return to his home country is possible.
The report has cited Rome based media outlet Il Messaggero claiming that Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola is trying to convince Liverpool to let go his client to the Partenopei on loan in the January transfer window.
The recent report follows days after Brendan Rodgers said, “Balotelli doesn’t suit Liverpool’s style of play”. Thus it wasn’t a surprise when Balotelli wasn’t even names in the substitutes bench in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City on New Year’s day at Anfield
But how feasible in Balotelli’s loan move to Napoli? Rafa Benitez’s side are in need of striking options and are closing in on Sampdoria’s winger striker Manolo Gabbiadini.
Beside Gonazlo Higuain, the San Paolo side have only Duvan Zapata, the young Colombian who has grabbed his chances this season but is inexperienced to lead the line on his own. A move for Balotelli thus makes sense but his poor reputation might play down chances over the possibel transfer.
