Leeds United are interested in signing Huesca left-back Javi Galan this summer.

The Whites have been linked with Brest defender Romain Perraud in recent weeks, but the £15-18 million asking price has put them off.

The Premier League club are now looking at a cheaper alternative and have identified Galan as a possible target.

Ezgjan Alioski is set to leave Leeds when his contract expires this summer, and they need to bring in a quality left-back before the start of next season.

Galan has done well for Huesca and could prove to be a handy addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s defensive options.

The 26-year-old has a release clause of £3.5 million, and his signing could prove to be a bargain if he adapts to English football.

Galan has a contract with the Spanish club until 2022, and it is understandable why his release clause is so low.

As per Football Insider, the club have already approached Galan’s representatives to discuss a summer transfer.

SL View: Galan’s attacking quality could be useful for Leeds

Galan is a capable defender with excellent attacking attributes. Only Lionel Messi has completed more dribbles than Galan in La Liga this past season.

His arrival would add a new dimension to the Leeds attack, while his versatility would be a bonus for Leeds.

The opportunity to work with Bielsa could be tempting for Galan, and it would be no surprise to see him head to Elland Road this summer.
