After Atletico Madrid having suffered a defeat in the race to sign Diego Costa earlier this week, fresh rumours have surfaced in the Italian press surrounding the future of the Chelsea striker. This time, the Spain international has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Napoli.
Napoli have sold Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus this summer for a record transfer fee (Seria A) and despite signing promising young striker Arkadiusz Milik from Ajax, the Naples club are still looking for reinforcements.
According to reports from Italy’s national newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have shifted their attention towards signing Diego Costa.
The Serie A giants have been chasing Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, a reported target for Arsenal, but it seems they’ve shifted their focus towards signing Costa, thanks to Superagent Jorge Mendes who is looking to offer his client to Napoli.

Antonio Conte has said many a time this summer that Costa will not be sold and that the striker is very happy at the Bridge. He is valued around €60m and the only way Costa can leave the Blues is if , and a big if, Chelsea sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton as his replacement.
Chelsea have reportedly submitted a £57m bid for the Belgium striker this summer although it is still way short of Everton’s £72m valuation. The Blues are confident of re-signing him while the player may likely to push for a transfer.
