It looks like Liverpool will have the services of left back Emiliano Insua, at least for the time being, s the Argentine’s prospective move to Fiorentina has fallen through.
The two sides had agreed on a fee for the 21-year-old, but the deal has broken down due to the player being unable to agree personal terms with the Serie A side.
Insua, who started 30 Premier League games for Liverpool last season, rejoined the club for today’s friendly in Germany against Borussia Monchengladbach, and he started and played nearly an hour in Liverpool‘s 1-0 loss.
Fiorentina could still make a move for Insua over the next month, but if he remains at Liverpool, one could expect him to have an edge to be first-choice at left back ahead of the re-signed Fabio Aurelio, who replaced him in today’s defeat in Monchengladbach.
